And if you enjoyed the beautiful days to make an anthill observation with your children? An idea of DIY easy to achieve and that your budding naturalists will love!
- 1 empty plastic bottle
- a stone that can get into the bottle
- a tray
- a shovel
- a funnel
- a towel
- plastic film
- a small piece of sponge
- bread crumbs
Cut out the bottom of the bottle and put the stone there. Rebase with plastic wrap and put everything in the center of the tray.
With the shovel, pick up ants and soil and slide them into the bottle using the funnel.
Place the wet sponge tip and the crumbs at the top. Rinse the bottle and cover it with a cloth.
Once a day, wet the sponge and put down ants to eat (crumbs of bread, cereals, grains of sugar ...).
After three daysthese will start digging galleries. Fascinating!
The ants will dig their galleries along the sides of the bottle and you will be able to see them easily. But do not forget to give them freedom after two or three weeks of observation.
